old news	march 2006 news yha-ing 31 march - 1 april 2006 yha-ing and walking in edale: a good 12 miles round kinder scout and jacobs ladder. four seasons in one-day weather: sunny, rain, snow, showers. just great to get outside in some fresh air. mothering sunday 26 march 2006 happy mothers day mums! fine food and drink 25 march 2006 a fab evening of great food and too much drink with gerry! happy birthday rachel 23 march 2006 gerry's party 18 march 2006 we head into nottingham for the first time in ages. drinks at gerry's party at bar none. happy birthday sue 16 march 2006 edinburgh day 4 13 march 2006 a final wander around the city, a light lunch of mussels, then bck home on the plane. in our rush on friday morning it appears we left a light on in the car, so we return to a very dead clio - doh! eventually, thanks to green flag, we make it back home. edinburgh day 3 12 march 2006 we wake up to a covering of snow - all very pretty but not very good for being a tourist. we start with a visit to the national gallery of scotland, then we try and do some shopping on princess street but it is really cold and all the snow is turning to slush. so we have to make do with an early start at the pub for the france vs england rugby. oh dear, not the result you want when you are english in a pub full of scots and french! edinburgh day 2 11 march 2006 its still cold and a bit wet - we walk via through princess street and down to holyrood palace. we have a stroll into the scottish parliament building. we then walked back up the royal mile. the afternoon was spent in the museum of scotland and watching the ireland vs scotland rugby. edinburgh day 1 10 march 2006 an early flight that we almost miss sees us into edinburgh for 9am. its cold a rainy so we do the touristy thing around the castle. we catch up on sleep in the afternoon at the hotel, then have food at the sister hotel's brasserie - metro. happy birthday weeble 8 march 2006 new windows 4 march 2006 we finally get new front windows. hurrah!! no more worrying about trying to open windows and watching panes of glass fall to the ground. a fantastic evening catch with rachel, chris and rufus in sheffield - can't believe rufus is growing so quickly.
