old news	june 2003 news wedding anniversary 30 june 2003 a day spent wandering round vegas, just trying to soak up all the sights. it really is an amazing place: tacky yes, but totally amazing. the casinos are bizarre: new york, new york, paris, mgm, caesar's palace, pyramids, eiffel tower, pirate ships - the list goes on. decide to treat ourselves and have food at the bellagio - well, olives the pizza restaurant with a two hour wait. but hey, it was the bellagio! vegas baby 29 june 2003 strangely there seem to be an awful lot of sore heads today. a brief final rendezvous for goodbyes, before rob & pippa join us in convoy to drive to las vegas. v v hot and not really the best cure for a hangover. photo opportunities as we drive across mojave desert. rob & pippa's car reads 110 degs. first view of las vegas is awesome: just this massive city in the middle of the desert. the casinos are even more surreal than you can imagine: the venetian and it's gondolas completely spin us out. rich & kristen wedding 28 june 2003 the big day: soaking up the sun and swimming in the morning, before getting to the church late afternoon. unfortunately there's no running water at the church which makes life interesting. a lovely service and kristen looks stunning. manage to consume lots of wine and as ever tradition dictates that the old swansea gang perform 'ymca' whilst everyone else looks on very bemused. the evening collapses as we carry on partying back at the motel - when will we learn? congratulations richard and kristen. tacky la 27 june 2003 endeavour to try and like la a bit more, but fail miserably. visit the tourist sites of mann's chinese theatre, hollywood boulevard and sunset strip. then head out to riverside to meet up with everyone before the big day. despite not being mentioned at all in the rough guide, riverside turns out to be a big place, with a lovely old spanish style building in the centre. quite surreal to meet rob, karen & duncan etc the other side of the world. la culture 26 june 2003 manage to find a bit of culture in la and have a fantastic day out at the getty centre. a fantastic museum, wonderful architecture and amazing views (despite the smog) of la. a really worthwhile visit. californian adventure 25 june 2003start of our californian adventure: early coach down to heathrow to meet up with nicki foster before flying out to la baby. first night is spent at a motel in santa monica, sipping margaritas and walking along the beach. v nice. linds & carrie 20 june 2003 a trip out of wales and some excellent fun. wedding anniversary 17 june 2003 4 years and still getting better bbq 14 june 2003 we decide to invite everybody and anybody to a wedding anniversary/we're off travelling bbq. loads of people came. we had a lot of fun! thanks to everyone who came. happy birthday jean 10 june 2003
