purple radio live debut

my first ever live internet radio show - arrrrgggghhhhh. warming up for mr black, i do a couple of hours from 8-10pm. All good fun and seemed to go down okay. tracklist and download.

the big chill 08 - day 3

final day at the festi... and we must see sir norman jay as we completely failed last year. so we're into the site in plenty of time and sir norman does not disappoint - a varied selection of old stuff for the first hour, then he gets us all dancing with some up to date sounds. finishing with pjanoo from eric prydz!

its then back to the campsite for some chilling and food.

back into the site for the final evening and we catch a bit of the buzzcocks, manage to avoid the dubstep in the club tent, and find ourselves ordering food with the cheery tones of leonard cohen at the main stage - cheer up mate!

refueled we head back to the rizla arena for the closing set by greg wilson - excellent.

The Big Chill 08 - Day 1

first proper day at the big chill and we awake after a good night's sleep. its rained overnight and I think our tent us on its last legs. al and nes head off to the body and sould arena in the morning for some massage treatments whilst the boys just hang out at the campsite. once the girls return all relaxed, lee mixes up some fine food. we have a lazy early afternoon whilst waiting for brother ian to arrive.

Once we're all settled we head into the festival proper with a few 'must sees' on the list. a good mooch around and we find ourselves dancing at the rizla arena to greg wilson - great stuff as expected. We then head over to the main stage to catch theivery corporation who are amazing! I take a quick detour to catch a bit of the orb bashing out a few classics... but theivery are worth returning to.

weekend at helsbury

we have along weekend down in cornwall for what has been dubbed the inaugural helsbury beer festival. dave, leza and lottie make us all very welcome at helsbury and we spend a chilled weekend chatting, eating, walking and drinking. we even manage to make it to the beach for some rays on the final day.

quiz night at the vic

as part of the annual vicfest, we try our hand again at the quiz night down at the vic. we are joined by lou and ian as normal... and we manage to avoid embaressment with a comfortable 'mid-table' finish!

Inspiration

Have just been inspired by Nicki to ensure we keep up with our blogging.... been writing about our exciting lives for nearly 10 years now, which is really quite mad. Quite sure that most people aren't that excited or interested about two 30-somethings in Beeston, Nottingham - but hey, it keeps us occupied. Here's to the next 10 years!

duran duran

appearing in nottingham on their red carpet tour, we go and see duran duran at the ice arena. its the first time we've been in the corporate box - a good view! duran duran have still got it, playing a good selection of classics along with some cracking stuff from the new album.
