2nd test match - trent bridge

another sunny day ahead of us and we are joined by hayley & wayne for a day of leather against willow. in through the gates and england had already lost another wicket - doh! england are finally put out of their misery and we are treated to a fairly dull but steady batting display from india. hardly the greatest day of cricket so we had to make do by drinking... as usual...

after plenty of ciders we had back home for some fine homecooked food and more of the fizzy pop.

a great day with some great friends!

beer and cheese

fresh from deserving to feel a whole lot worse than i did this morning, its down the local again for more vicfest. this time its the beer and cheese evening - what more could you want?

8 cheeses and 8 halves of mighty fine ale. a good range of uk cheeses from hartington stilton, devon brie, stinking bishop and wensleydale.

paella night at the vic

it's vicfest week one down at the vic and we treat ourselves to four tix to the paella night. mark and marie join us to enjoy neil cooking the biggest paella ever whilst getting slighty squiffy.

it was a fab fab night, although we probably didn't need the third bottle of wine.

Recovering from a hen do

Recovering from Sangita's hen do this morning, after a long night at Jongulers Comedy Club.
Not necessarily my cup of tea but Sangita had a good time. Quite full of hen and stag parties; comedy alright, 'chicken in basket', too much vodka but heh...Bonding with work colleagues

Rubbish day

...today went very quick down hill: brought to you in association with '... and it shows!' (for full details give me a shout).
Just seen 'Black Gold' at the Broadway: isn't western society and government trade policy rubbish! Makes you feel to be ashamed to be a white middle class coffee drinker: PLEASE GIVE A SHIT!!

Nottingham Girl Geek

Had the fourth nottingham girl geek session last night. v interesting internet marketing talk from susan hallam: very good speaker; very interesting session.
Excellent new venue at Fat Cat, and almost doubled the numbers from last time. Need to give the whole girl geek thing some more thought...

windies vs england odi at trent bridge

it could have been a great game... the windies batted okay and set a reasonable target. we watched most of the innings then went to the L&V to meet up with dave et al. then it was england's turn at the crease. well we watched about an hour then gave up for the sanctuary of the tbi and a pint with chris.

odi is a very different atmosphere to a test. not sure if we will bother again!

back to work

OMG! first day back work - it's been awful. can't we run a B&B instead?
