walking and camping

dave joins drives up in his van to join us for a weekend of walking and camping. a quick 4 miles around alstonefield and dovedale to start on saturday afternoon. then we head to longnor wood campsite.

A pleasant evening of ales and food in lognor itself then sleep in the peace and quiet of the country.

Another beautiful day on the sunday so we manage 8 or so miles around three shires head.

A weekend of walking would not be complete without a trip to the vic, and this was no exception.

flaming dragons

its about time for another work do... so all the chemistry digital team head for all you can eat at the flaming dragon. after our fill of sweet and sour veg, lemon chicken, sushi and tsingtao we head next door to revolution for vodka and vodka.

proper climbing

for the first time in far too many years I actually manage to get out and do some climbing on some proper rock. setting out far too early for wayne, we head for birchens edge and manage a few old favourites - trafalgar wall! wayne manages to lead a servere... i manage to solo a mod! the gangplank!



then its all back to derby for the 'derby mile'. far too much fun and ending up in the blue note. a fab day - cheers wayne!

girl geek no 3 last night: went really well and rachel's talk about her work at active ingredient was excellent. shame about the venue - noisy and rubbish food -but we're going to work on that for next time.

the weather has been fantastic today: in fact we even the first bbq of the year with mark and marie and ate outside. what's going on?

finally managed to catch up with heather today, after about two months of trying. we're going to try and do friday nights more often

being a housewife

due to the vagueries of working in the public sector, i didn't have to go to work today. instead i played at being a housewife and it was ace. a very hectic day cooking and cleaning and relaxing and reading and going to the gym and.....

easter holidays - off we go!

hurrah! it's easter so we're off on holiday today, camping on the north norfolk coast. bit of a gamble on the weather but it looks like it will be an exceptionally warm weekend.
really excited as it's a part of the country neither of us know and the campsite looks fantastic. long walks and sandy beaches here we come.

... quick drinks after work, can't wait for easter holidays. did however mean that we went down the pub for food again last night. how naughty - need to stop doing that!

great big truck

my md took delivery of his new big truck today. it has some subtle graphics on it! i think the idea is to let more people know about chemistry digital and what a great place to work it is.

market square, nice

went to the mini launch festival of the new old market square in town last night. bloody freezing standing out in the cold, but listen to a couple of the bands including just jack - excellent - and the magic numbers - not my cup of tea but they seemed ok. the square looked really good but it could do with a little more green-ness
