shock! horror! didn't go to the gym today but did go on a bike ride along the canal towards long eaton. it was like a whole new world to explore. maybe my new favourite place in nottingham at the mo!

grown ups

played at being grown ups last night: rachel, chris and rufus came round for dinner. excellent to catch up, can't believe how much rufus has grown. as ever, we promise to try and do this more often...

doing good

had such a good day today: finally, after months of preparation, site visits, form filling and generally sorting out with stacey, it was the team challenge volunteering day for me and some of my marketing colleagues. we all went and helped out at bulwell hall community gardens.
thankfully the weather was absolutely beautiful - needed suncream - and i well and truly ache at the mo! does that mean i'll go to heaven now?

.... what's with this work thing getting in the way of life.... simon and i have hardly seen one another all week: Simon was in london monday and thursday, and i went down on wednesday. what's all that about!! we're supposed to be slackers!

mum's up this weekend for mother's day. have a great day today, relaxing and then into town for a girlie afternoon. far too much time and money spent at Boots on the Benefit counter. i seem to be getting worse in my old age - what is with all this make up i keep buying? It's all nicki foster's fault: she introduced me to it!

looking after the cats

we're looking after gerry's cats this weekend whilst she's off working in france. when we arrive to feed them this evening, they are already waiting on the steps, waiting for someone to come back and feed them, missing their mum!

working on a saturday

have to work today: NTU open day for prospective students. very busy, over 600 guests turn up; queues out the door at one point, but generally the day goes well.

push on through to an evening out with hayley and wayne in derby, with fine food, much much white wine and gin (naturally) at zest to say thanks for all simon's hard work on the fantastic web site for the restaurant.

the odd ones out

... finally manage a catch up with sue, lou and cristina from the a&l days, with respective partners and children ..... simon and i were the odd ones out without kids - definitely grown ups now. manage to have a good catch up with everyone and marvel at how everyone's is growing up fast. endeavour to try and meet up more frequently (well, we always say that!)
